Start Your Introduction into Lean Six Sigma with SMU CAPE
Learn what causes defects and waste in a process, product or service, and become familiar with common Six Sigma tools that improve quality and team efficiency and Lean tools that help reduce operational costs and improve customer experience with a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certificate through SMU Continuing and Professional Education (CAPE).
For one hour every other week, you’ll also meet with your instructor, a Certified Master Black Belt, for a live, virtual class session, which will cover the key points of each week’s lesson and allow you to ask questions to help ensure your comprehension of the material.

Upon your successful completion of the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt program, you will be able to:
- Define common Lean and Six Sigma terminology, tools and concepts
- Identify potential process improvement opportunities in your day-to-day tasks
- Understand the purpose and process of a Kaizen event

- Recognize the differences between Six Sigma and Lean

About the Instructor
Brian Galli has more than 12 years of experience applying industrial engineering and project management in industries including healthcare, manufacturing and service environments. He has earned a doctoral degree in engineering management from Old Dominion University, a BS in industrial engineering from Binghamton University, a MS in engineering management from Missouri University of Science & Technology and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification from Dartmouth College.
